CASTING CALL FOR MEDUSA - LONDON
Fusion Theatre Company in collaboration with Global Hive Laboratories are looking to collaborate with multi-disciplined artists across all art forms to be part of our exciting and dynamic production of Medusa at The Pleasance in November, and at The Cockpit in March 2020.
Fusion Theatre Company, in collaboration with Global Hive Laboratories, Chez Actors, La Compagnie Certes, Pop Magic Productions and BoucheWHACKED! Theatre Collective, seek to create work that deals with global issues and to innovate the practice of theatre further using technology and inclusivity. Our unique practice puts Access design at the core of the work, not as an afterthought but linked to the creation process. This means that every show we produce provides Captioning, Audio Description, Touch Tours and BSL Interpretation services for audiences with disabilities.
We are looking for multi-disciplined artists, BAME artists and artists with disabilities to join the team, to collaborate and devise with us. We are especially interested in hearing from artists that create and perform across different art forms, with a strong creative voice and ability to work well as part of a team. We will be using what we have learned across the different locations to inform our work, however, we expect the artists to contribute and devise with us as an active member of the rehearsal room. The rehearsal room will be a space where our international ensemble comes together, so this may be an interesting choice for applicants who would like to expand their international network.
ALL are welcome to apply, those who work within theatre, dance, sculpture, fine art, drag, costume, make-up, cookery etc etc.
We are in the midst of a crowdfunding campaign so the fee for the show at the Pleasance could well increase. However at this point, we can only guarantee £300 for each cast member.
If you are passionate about any of the work we are doing, passionate about the theme and about working with international artists, we apply with your CV and Covering Letter, detailing why you are interested in being involved in the project, the art forms you perform within and how you may be an asset to the rehearsal room.
Rehearsals will be between 28th Oct - 10th November 2019 in Mill Hill or Loughton.
Show - 11th - 15th November 2019

2020 LABORATORY - PIACENZA, ITALY

This year’s devising workshop will take place in February in Piacenza, Italy.
MORE INFO COMING SOON.
Global Hive Laboratories believes that by bringing together an ensemble of interdisciplinary, multi-cultural, intersectional, and multi-lingual artists, the mission of holding an inclusive rehearsal and performance process directly informs the specificity and artistry of the performances produced, and fosters an environment of open and anti-exclusionary dialogue.
With this project, university students will participate in a laboratory workshop in Spring 2020 that helps to create a piece of dynamic and accessible performance art, and support the development of a sustainable methodology for anti-exclusionary devised theatre.
Students will participate in the workshop/project as creators and performers. Not only would this provide Aurora University students the opportunity to work and learn about this exciting process, but it also provides us the opportunity to engage emerging practitioners in conversations of accessibility that is vital to the future of the industry as a whole.
